A more documentary/lifestyle-based approach to newborn photography, First 48 sessions are held during the first 48 hours of your newborn's life, on-location at your hospital or birthing center (in-home sessions can also be arranged for home births). The session does not document the actual birth, but rather the fleeting moments that follow over the course of the next 48 hours: baby swaddled with mom/dad, nursing, meeting a new sibling, etc. Sessions are shorter than full-length newborn sessions (about 30 minutes) so as not to interfere with rest and bonding time, and include up to 10 edited images on a USB drive so you won't have to worry about ordering prints when you come home from the hospital. (Clients will still receive an online proof gallery if they wish to purchase professional prints/products.) All-inclusive fee is $200 if booked alone, or $175 if booked in addition to a full-length newborn session or Bump & Baby combo.
Because First 48 sessions require me to be "on call" during the last few weeks of your pregnancy, you MUST arrange your session at least 1-2 months prior to your due date. Please be sure to check with your hospital or birthing center before booking your session to find out when visiting hours are, how many people will be allowed in your recovery room, and whether there are any specific visiting policies regarding non-family members or photographers.
